Spriggs Family Journal

It has been a long time since my last entry. 2004-2005 were very stressful years for me in terms of my career development. Graduating in 2001 with my doctorate in clinical psychology was a big hurdle, but I still needed to obtain my independent license.

In Michigan that required 2 years of supervised experience and passing the board exam. I took the board exam on 12/22/05, and learned that I passed on 1/14/06. I was granted a Michigan license to practice psychology on 1/13/06. I began preparing for this in 1990 when I decided to major in psychology and now, 17 years later, I have finally achieved my goal.

Several months ago, I helped found a non-profit corporation called "Eden Family Counseling." The board of directors have voted to have me serve as president. Obtaining my license was very important to my professional development. We anticipate 3/1/2006 as the start date of Eden Family Counseling. Eden Family Counseling will accept insurance for clinical services and we plan to have multiple counselors and counseling interns.
